It’s all about the METRICS, baby

Last week, in addition to celebrating hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, I took some time to dig deep on metrics, and how the lack thereof might be crippling my job search efforts. As someone whose work was on-the-ground and community-driven, I’ve found it hard to quantify my efforts in a way that feels truthful and reflective of my time.

In today’s competitive job market, there’s lots of advice being shared about how to make your resume and application stand out. Even if you’re not in the energy of competition, a glance at the number of applicants for any one given position on LinkedIn is a sharp reminder that people are indeed competing with you.

Here’s some helpful ways to make your resume shine:
